When will your film finish?
Include adverts and trailers, so you can plan your lift, dinner or journey home.
Your estimate includes the film’s credits. Allow extra time to leave the building.
Calculate your cinema finish time
Use the advertised start time on your ticket, the runtime listed for your film, and your allowance for adverts and trailers. For a 19:30 screening with a two-hour film and 25 minutes of pre-show content, the estimated finish is 21:55.
If the film runs for 142 minutes, enter 0 hours and 142 minutes, or 2 hours and 22 minutes. The result is the same. Late screenings show “Next day” when the finish falls after midnight.
Common questions
How long should I allow for adverts and trailers?
The calculator starts at 25 minutes as an editable planning allowance. It is not a verified length for your cinema. Check your cinema’s screening information, particularly for special events, and adjust the allowance. You can compare 15 and 30 minutes to see how much your finish time could change.
Does the result include the credits?
Yes, when the runtime you enter includes credits. Use the full published runtime and don’t add the credits again. This estimate does not identify when the main story or any post-credit scenes finish.
Can I use it for a film at home?
Yes. Set adverts and trailers to zero and enter the time you plan to start. The result assumes normal playback speed with no pauses.
Is this the exact time I will leave?
No. The calculation is exact for the numbers you enter, but screening delays and pre-show lengths can vary. Leave additional time to exit the cinema and reach your transport.
